Kids4Arts runs groups in the Cambridge area for pre-school and primary school children which promote confidence and development through interaction with other children and self-expression through the arts!
Why engage with Drama? Here are just some of the reasons! Kids4Arts provides:
- a new social activity
- a chance to play and create new relationships with peers as well as the group leader
- an opportunity to build communication skills – physically, mentally, verbally
- increased confidence through self expression
- encouragement to make choices through role play – learn empathy, put oneself in other people's shoes
- increased respect for and from other children
- fun with facial expressions, gestures, movements and eye contact
- creativity & imagination, expressed through all Arts
Kids4Arts sessions are held at a number of venues in Cottenham, Cambridge at different times throughout the week; see the Classes page for full details.
The sessions are run by Sheila Gosling, an experienced and active Drama Group Leader who has been working in the field in Cambridge for well over ten years.
Here are some comments from parents and carers:
"Absolutely wonderful - exactly the group we've been looking for!"
"Pippa (aged 4) loved following the duck and bear footprints and eating her dinner by the fire"
"Lots of fun role play, using all the amazing props which the children
had had fun making! Wonderful feather headbands, a colourful and ornate
teepee. They really enjoyed tiptoeing and following the animal
footprints. They also had great fun pretending to cook around the camp
fire!"
